Joining the PTO is a fantastic way for parents to get involved in their child’s education and school community. As a PTO member, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, staff, and other parents to enhance the learning experience for all students. Here are some key benefits of joining the PTO:

What Membership Dues Support
Your membership dues play a crucial role in funding a variety of important school activities and resources, including:
• Field Trips: Enriching educational excursions that provide hands-on learning experiences.
• Teacher Professional Development: Continuous learning opportunities for teachers to enhance their skills and teaching methods.
• Playground Equipment: Safe and fun play structures and materials to promote physical activity and social interaction.
• Books: Additional reading materials for the school library and classrooms to support literacy and a love of reading.
• Enrichment Programs: Special programs and activities, such as arts, music, and science workshops, that enhance the standard curriculum.
• School Events: Organizing and funding school-wide events, such as family nights, to build a stronger community.
• Classroom Supplies: Extra materials and resources that teachers and students need for daily learning activities.
By joining the PTO and paying membership dues, you directly contribute to creating a vibrant, supportive, and enriching educational environment for all students.
As an added bonus, with your membership you will receive a school directory. These are handy for planning play dates, coordinating birthday parties and organizing classroom parties. You must become a member to receive a directory, and you have the option to purchase an additional directory at check out.
This year, we’ve combined PTO membership and our former “Sponsor Your Student” fundraiser into one simplified, tiered donation opportunity.
When you become a member and make an additional donation, you’re directly supporting students, teachers, and school-wide initiatives at Cedar Canyon Elementary. It also makes possible our free family events and teacher appreciation efforts throughout the year.
Every dollar makes a difference in our students’ experience!
With a more streamlined fundraising approach, we will be eliminating many of the additional “asks” like the silent auction, pumpkin smash, and teacher pie donation requests.
Instead, we’re focusing on three main fundraisers:

Fall Fun Run/Color Run
Komet’s Hockey Night
With your support of these fundraisers, we are committing to fewer requests throughout the year and regular communication on how your donations are used throughout the school to enhance your students’ educational experience.
